JESUS...a hunnert times

I was holler...."JESUS, JESUS"....bout a hunnert times.

Ya see, when I get in a position where I cain't do nuttin bout it, I holler JESUS. Right bout 2am, right on the button, I get me a leg cramp. This thing was mak'n my foot turn almost all the ways around backwards. My toes was stick'n straight up in the air. I flys out of bed....head for the liv'n room. My god, I'm in some kind of pain. I hollers Jesus....bout a hunnert times. Jesus fix it after bout 30 minutes.

Back in bed by 2:30am, gonna get me some peaceful sleep. "Uh huh...yeah you are Billy Bob". It's 4:30 a clock in the morn'n. That when I get my second leg cramp....the backward kind ya know. Foot try'n to turn all the ways around backwards, toes stick'n up in the air.....I hollers JESUS....bout a hunnert times. This one only last bout 20 minutes....Jesus was feel'n sorry for me I betcha. Anyhows, I'm back to normal now. No aches or pains.

If'n ya ain't never been redneck camp'n, this is redneck camp'n. This was took in the north Georgia mountains on a 10 day camp'n trip with the boys an' a few grankids. Did I mention that it rained for 4 days?

An' did ya know ya can catch a pile of trout when it rains? I catched them fish with Green Giant whole kernel corn. Did I get wet? You betcha I did. Fell slap on the creek. *see top photo* Some them clothes on the line are mine.
When we make a campfire, we make a campfire. Took 5 days just to burn through that big sucker. Left the remains of that log for the next ten or so campers (the two ends).I'm think'n ya could get a cord of firewood out that log.

Oh god....I hate Walmart. Here I was with my stuff in the cart. It's time to check out. I gets up to the front an'.....there's two checkout lanes open, one 20 items or less an' two self checkout. I get pissed....say a few words. Then I hollers..."HEY!!!!". A nice lady, works for Walmart, come up to me...."Is something wrong"? Well yeah something is wrong....where are the &%$#'n checkers? She knowed I was pissed. Here come a floor manager, or what ever title they got....so's I light into her too. Say'n words an' stuff. I had to threaten to leave my cart before they opened a line just for me. I know it's Walmart policy to have only two or three lanes open, but this was ridiculous. There was 20 people in them two lines.

Ok, I got my shop'n done, pick up my meds an' head back to "da house". Builded me a big ol' pot of Billy Bob beef stew soup. Dang....that's some good eat'n.

Speak'n of "that jeep". My freak'n heater don't work worth a crap. I liked to freeze to death in that POS thing. Remember it was only 47 degs yesterday. Why the hell don't my heater work? It works just fine in the summer when I need air condition'n
Hold on a sec.....gonna go check the water.
Ok, it got enough water for two "that jeeps".

Laters.....eat some soup.

    2. When I lived in Sinton I would go to the Calallen one. It seemed to always be some sort of "problem" every time I went. I like the one in Portland best. Is the weather going to ever let us play golf again????

  2. I HATE Wal-Mart and a few of their smart-assed senior clerks and higher-ups. That corporation has ruined America and started ruining all the rest of the world. They own Humana. What next, funeral homes and burial grounds -if not already. Suspect they got their fingers in the dollar stores too. Get your money coming and going and sell some cheap ship, exploiting foreign workers at 15 cents an hour!

    1. I don't know who you are anany, but your take on Walmart is bogus. In my travels, I have been to no less than 100 Walmarts. Never once have I found a "smart assed" senior clerk or higher ups. (I win that one). Your take on Walmart ruining America is way way out there....score 2 for the old Billy Bob. Walmart DOES NOT own Humana. You should research before you post "shit" on my blog. They partnershipped up in the prescription drug industry. The cheap "ship" you buy at Walmart is the same cheap "ship" you buy anywhere else. I would love to see your research information on Walmart "exploiting" foreign workers @ 15 cents an hour.

Don't be put'n this shit on my blog no more.....OK????

  4. Per Dr. David at JustAnswer.com
The exact cause of night leg cramps isn't known.Common causes are: low potassium levels, muscle overextension, prolonged sitting, dehydration, diabetes, neuro muscular disorders, excessive alcohol, peripheral vascular disease.

Such types of leg cramps are very common in elderly age.

  6. I've been getting cramps lately, and I'm told it's 'cause I started taking "Crestor". (Rosuvastatin)
This is something to do with "high cholesterol". What ever.
Seems they all have the same side effects. (Lipitor, etc.)
Is that what's getting at ya? Or maybe there is some sort of vitamin deficiency, as mentioned above?

    1. Bob it never occurred to me that that was the reason I started having bad leg cramps back when I was taking Crestor for the same reason....high cholesterol levels.

I quit taking it because my doctor no longer offered free samples and I could not afford to buy the medication as it is quite pricey and I have no medical insurance. The real reason I quit taking it though is because I noticed it started affecting my memory.

It did not occur to me that my leg cramps also went away. Thank you for clearing up that mystery!

    2. Statins are just another way for Big Pharma to make more money. The side effects are not worth it, and they do NOT reduce heart attacks.
If and when I have leg cramps, I know that I am not taking enough calcium with magnesium.

  7. My name is Harold Bevins, and I was having some problems with leg cramps too, so a friend told me about a product of Canada Dry, called Tonic Water, and it contains Quinine... which is supposed to be good for your cramps. I have used it for a bout a month now and haven't had a cramp since. It comes in both diet and regular, in 10oz bottles, which I drink one a day... Maybe it will work for you too..

    1. I doubt that 1 bottle of Canada Dry Tonic Water will hurt you but quinine does not appear to be the solution for leg cramps. Please read the article at this link:
      http://medicalconsumers.org/2011/12/28/drugs-that-cause-leg-cramps/

This is what they say about prescribed Quinine:
In Canada and the U.S., doctors frequently prescribe Quinine for nighttime leg cramps, though the drug has never been proven effective for this purpose. Most government drug regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, have issued warnings against the use of Quinine for leg cramps because of severe, potentially fatal adverse effects. Still, the practice lives on in both countries.

This is what they say about Statin drugs:
Of the three drug classes with the strongest link to leg cramps, statin drugs had the weakest association. Statins are known to cause muscle symptoms, but myopathy (muscle weakness) is more likely than cramps.
(This was my experience with statins, muscle weakness and muscle pain but no cramps.)

This is what they say about the two classes of drugs most responsible for leg cramps:
The two drug classes with the strongest links to leg cramps are the diuretics and the inhaled long-acting β2-agonists (some brands: Advair, Serevent, Symbicort). In the diuretic class, which has a wide range of brand names and three subgroups, the potassium-sparing diuretics (some brands: Aldactone, Dyrenium, Midamor) and thiazidelike diuretics (Zytanix, Zaroxolyn, Mykrox) were even more likely to cause leg cramps than loop diuretics.

Billy Bob has said repeatedly that the leg cramps are caused by his bad back. I don't know what drugs he may be taking but there is a possible connection to diuretics because of his prior heart issues. A very good article and something to consider if you are suffering from leg cramps and assume that they can be fixed with a bottle of Tonic Water and a banana
What should people do if they have leg cramps and are taking one of the drugs most likely to be the cause? Dr. Garrison, the lead author of this study, answered this question by e-mail, “Nocturnal leg cramps can be very difficult to treat.

  8. I love your "redneck camp". I needed to have taken some tarps this last time around to the chili cook-off, it sure would have helped a lot with the rain!
