Nuttin but big ol' trucks an' cars

This morn'n I crawl out of bed not feel'n worth a poop. But I got a blog to write, so here I are.

I didn't tell ya yesterday, but that tug boat took a fall. Ya see, there was a stretch of road, bout a hunnert mile long, where maintenance don't fit the bill. "Sally da house" shaked an' shimmy go'n over that road. Think washboard country roads. The cabin/pilot house assembly fell to the floor. Crunched a hand rail, knock the searchlight slap off an' busted loose one smokestack. No problem, I know how to fix stuff like that.

I went outside to turn my inverter on. Poooof, a cloud of white smoke fills the air. To be replaced down the road a piece. Grrrrrrrrr......

When you travel by interstate, you ain't gonna see nuttin excit'n. It's just highway, slap full of big ol' trucks an' a gazillion cars. I ain't never in my travels seen so much traffic on a interstate as I have for the last 150 miles. Think'n maybe low gas prices have something to do with it. Very few RV's have been encountered.

Upon brew'n my first pot of coffee, the Onan generator quit. Tryed to recrank. Nope, it's dead to the world. Switch coffee mak'ns over to the peculator an' turn the fire on. I'll boil me some coffee.
Then, I says, let's try that generator again. Ha, that sucker fire right up an' I'm drink'n fresh brewed coffee. Now all I got to do is figger out what happen that it shut down.

I was gonna attempt to drive all the way to Slidell, La. today without stopping for gas. Hmmmmm, I ain't gonna make it. Oh I probly could, but do you know how much stress is involved when you get low on fuel??? I ain't go'n that route. 140 miles down the road is a Texaco I'm gonna pull into. That simple.

Billy Bob south Texas chili, with Doritos an' cheese was supper last night. Alka Seltzer was the reliever. But I do have to say, this is some of the best chili ya ever eat in your entire life.

Ok, this is it for now. Probly gonna be a update later on. Check in with me.

  2. A wise decision to get gas when you can. I speak from experience. Have had the nail-biting worry of watching the gas hand go down with no service station in sight. That was a case of a lesson learned. Please be careful that all those trucks and cars don't come into contact with Sally. Will be watching. Barney is practicing his golf game, wants to be ready!

  4. Please go to Target when you get the opportunity and buy the Omeprazole take one in the morning early and never have acid reflux heartburn again!!!!!!!!!! It only costs $17.49 plus tax for 3 bottles of it that would be 42 pills..I took it immediately & have never had to have Pepto or Alka Seltzer again...It REALLY WORKS I TELL YOU....The doctor I see prescribed Prilosec which is a name brand two times a day, the Omprezale is the UP & UP Brand from Target and you only have to take it one time a day, IT DOES WORK, no I don't work for Target and when I use something and it works I share it with others, it is the UP & UP Brand and the top of the bottle is PURPLE, look for it try it they sell it in individual bottles if you are hesitant and you will never ever have any heartburn again, I am a testament to it, I take it early in the morning and sip some tea and toast and I have not had any heartburn since I started taking it in late July 2014 that is the God's truth for you to suffer needlessly cause you are not taking it is RIDICULOUS~ Please get one bottle and try it out and you will see you will feel a 100 Percent Better, happy holidays, enjoy wherever you end up Billy Bob a longtime follower, mjs in the pacific northwest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Billy Bog it is 20 mg strength in the purple top of the bottle, it comes in the small bottle if you want to try it out if your are hesitant but many I have mentioned it to told me it really worked for them, you just gotta pop it into your mouth before solid food hits your tummy, you like coffee, take it with coffee...It needs to get into your body about 1 hour, you can nibble on toast but no chili and cheese for about one hour and you will be pleased no more acid reflux/heartburn and it will save you a bundle as Prilosec is in my OPINION mighty dadblasted expensive and I read the instructions on the box of Prilosec and one has to take two of them to work, no way the UP & UP brand is cheaper it comes in a 3 pack I think the outside is an ORANGE color but the tops of the bottles are purple get those ones and save money, I recently bought two and got a $5.00 Target card making them even cheaper and I got to buy some food things I needed with the $5.00 Target card, I tell you I don't have heartburn at all..Just make sure to buy in bulk cause you don't go to Target everyday, they sell it for only $17.49 for the 3 pack of 42 pills 14 pills in each bottle a 6 week supply you only got to take it once a day, please get the bottle of one and try it and enjoy your life again..Happiest of Holidays, ciao~!

  8. All that traffic and no scenery on the interstates is what keeps me on the country roads when I travel. I don't know what I'll do when I take off for NY this spring, but even great scenery loses some of its attraction when you travel alone.

    1. There IS no scenery east of the Mississippi river. Nuttin but dad gum trees. It's a forest I'm tell'n ya, a freak'n forest.

Now THIS morn'n, when I hit the road, the traffic is half of what it was yesterday. Go figger!!! An' I'm now on a different interstate (I-59 south), there's barely any traffic at all.

  10. Never take advice from anyone who is afraid to put their name on a post.

Do you exercise your generator when you do not use it for extended periods? My Onan guy said to run it under load (air conditioner on high) for 90 minutes every three weeks, I keeps all the parts working together.

    1. I often have to sign Anonymous because Google gets it's drawers in a wad and acts up; "disappears" my comment otherwise.

See, anonymous is "a longtime follower, mjs in the pacific northwest" - Anonymous did put an identity in his/her first comment. MJS means well and trying to save BB or gubrmint some money, I reckon. Kind deed. Per Andrea, RN - it pays to do our own research about any meds we take. Many people are seriously lacking magnesium unless they take a supplement for it. I research stuff and such; thas how I knowd. Ha Ha

    2. Hi ya Croft. Yeah I exercise it....bout onest a month or so I crank it up just to hear it runs. Sounds good to me. No, I don't do the load thing on it.

  11. Oh my word! Billy Bob. You have a lot of stamina to do all these miles. We are about the same age and I am as useless today as a 'fixed' bull. Unable to go to 10 miles/town to buy the coffee I forgot to buy yesterday; now that's a bad situation, wouldn't you think? Probably will take ALL day tomorrow for me to get moving around. 'Sides that, my back is killing me!

Now just how many wasted hours because of that tugboat wreck? I was worried that might happen. Ha Ha, that's what bungee cords are for.

I'll be happy when I hear you are at the end of your roadtrip - I worry a lot about a lot of stuff, ya know.

    1. Actually Sissy, 200 miles is just a hop skip an' a jump. I know many RV'ers that put 400 miles a day on the odometer.

But wait till ya hear bout today.....

    2. And this FOOL has done over 500 miles towing in one day too many times.

  12. Wow BB! Ya busted up the tug boat, blowed up the inverter by lettin' the smoke out, they run on smoke ya know. Ya got Genny upset over somethin' again and then.... then ya just gotta have Texas Chilli fer supper and be suckin' down Alka Seltzer water. All in the first day of On the Road Again. But the biggest thing I see from here is that "no scenery east of the Mississippi"! Ya seem to not be able to see trees for the forest unless yer swakin' golf balls. I'm hopin' ya had a much better second day On the Road Again than the first... Have ya checked the Jeep is still back there?
