Holy crap....56???

The first nine holes were a total disaster for old Billy Bob. I were hit'n balls in every direction, hit'n trees, go'n in the woods, skip'n across the water....every direction but the right direction. Robert was chugg'n along at a steady pace at beat'n his daddy. Now for the rest of the story......

After grueling nine holes with a score of 56.....don't be do'n no laugh'n, I were think'n seriously of never play'n golf again for the rest of my life. Nobody hits a 56 in nine holes....not even women. Then I got to think'n bout los'n a round of golf to my son. That would be the end of the world. So's I made some adjustments to my game plan. "Git 'em in the fareway Billy Bob, git 'em in the fareway". Tiger Woods woulda been proud of the Billy Bob....struck me a 43 on the back nine. Although 99 is a terrible score, I were a winner. What more could I want???

Ok, here's the deal, plug wires for "Sally da house". I pretty much decided to replace the OEM wires with them high dollar, high heat wires I were talk'n bout yesterday. I ain't never gonna get my money back, but the comfort of know'n I have quality spark to a brand new set of platinum spark plugs is priceless. Yup, that what I gonna do.

Maybe I be back later.....

Ok....later......
Plug wires are on order. "You da man Billy Bob"

Then just for the fun of it, let's try to register "that jeep" online. Well, I want ya take a lookie here..... registration and sticker will be mailed to my address in Deming NM. Cain't beat that with a stik. Now how I gonna talk old "pesky" into sending it to me somewhere's. And where is that somewheres gonna be?

What this gives me is some extra time to do anything I want as long as I don't drive "that jeep" after Aug 31st. Or to put it a different way, not to get caught driv'n it after Aug 31st. "So now what ya gonna do Billy Bob"??? Anything I want I betcha.

  1. I played 9 holes of golf back when I was in my early 20's, and it was my one and only time. Of course my memory is not quite a sharp as it used to be but I think my score for those 9 holes was somewhere in the 90's. I was pretty proud of myself that I actually finished 9 holes! Congratulations on coming from behind and pulling off a win.

    1. I were try'n to learn a lady one time how to play golf. She scare hell out me when her score was better than mine on the front nine. All I can say bout that is that "I suck". But I pull from behind on that one too.

  2. Close call on letting the son almost beat ya! That would have been a constant topic of conversation for a while, I'll bet!

    Good call on the wires!

    1. For what those plug wires cost, I'm not too sure it was a good call or not.

  3. I was in N.C. when my inspection ran out. I just had it inspected there and they put a sticker on it. When I finished my couple year project and came back to Texas I just had it inspected here. Didn't seem to be any problem either place.

    1. Why did to get an inspection in N.C. for a Texas registered vehicle???

  4. If you live close to the big cities in Texas (certain counties) then you have to get the vehicle to pass the "emissions tests" as well.

    1. I'm good on the emissions test on "Sally da house". No inspection required for "that jeep" in NM. Why do I have one registered in Texas and the other in NM.....'cause I can. Legal address both States.

  5. Back in my days of college life at Texas A&M, in '75...I was driving a 1959 Caddy...pink with a white top. and the huge shark fins, for my daily driver. Heading back to Ft Worth for Christmas.. I had "altered" my expired registration sticker with a Marks-alot...making the 11 into a 12. Long about North of Calvert, TX a DPS driver saw me on Hwy 6 and pulled me over....something he noticed with my sticker didn't look right....so he just gave me a speeding ticket...and warned me it was a major deal with the tag...but he would let it go.

So be careful with any "alterations"....nowadays they'll send in a SWAT team to take you down if you did that.

great car...trunk was big enough to haul an old Kelvinator yard-sale-bought fridge back to the dorm...used a 2x12 to lay it on,,, it stuck out of the trunk 2-3 feet...but rode swell. Used to buy Coors beer at home and sold it from the dorm room..."cause the Houston boys loved it but it wasnt sold further south than DFW back then.

  6. If you paid for the registration on-line I assume you got a receipt. If you were to get stopped after Aug 31st I think you could beat a ticket by showing the receipt and claiming that the mail is slow. I have driven for a couple of weeks after my plate sticker was expired and have had no problems - yet.
