1000 mile thoughts

My god Billy Bob...."What   the   hell   are   you   think'n"???

It all boils down to one thing. Can I drive "Sally da house" 1000 miles? That's what I been think'n bout. An' I ain't got no answers yet. I betcha a dollar I can, but it may take me a week or so. Then I got to think'n...."well yes you can drive that far....just don't leave today". (All crookit again this morn'n)

I thought bout tell'n ya a story this morn'n, but shoot, I done told ya all of 'em. Now what some people do in a case like this, is to provide a link to the old blog post bout the story. I don't do that. You do know don't ya, that ever time ya tell a story, it changes a little. I call that "added spice". It don't really change the drift of the story, but it makes it a better read. "Now where the hell did I leave my spice bottles"?

I knew I was gonna do this. Today there was to be no post from the old Billy Bob. But I'm sit'n here an' I got stuff go'n through my mind. I gotta tell ya bout it.

Last night, while I was sit'n over there on the couch think'n bout that 1000 miles, I got to think'n...."if'n ya hit down on the ball Billy Bob, it will go up in the air an' land on the green". Then I got to think'n bout the weather. You know we had some rain don't ya? Well, there's more com'n this way. That means the fairways are gonna be wet an' muddy, cain't drive the golf cart out to your ball. Big ol' mud puddles out there. Ya gotta walk. So golf ball swak'n will be delayed until somewheres around Thursday or Friday....next week.

Ok, that's where my thoughts was at yesterday. What we gonna think about today?
"Psssst Billy Bob, a story, write a story". Maybe tomorrow......did I ever tell ya bout my three personalities?

  1. You can drive a thousand mile, BB. Just don't go too far at one sitting. Get up and walk around, take Sadie May for a walk. That big ole drivers seat is comfy, but you still got to get up now and then. Maybe you need a co-pilot. Can Sadie May reach the peddles? If not, lay a brick on the gas peddle and let her stand on the drivers seat and steer. Yeah, right.

    1. I sure do wish it was as easy as you say Dizzy.....but it ain't. *this was said by William E. (Bill), not Billy Bob or the popster*

  2. Always makes a better day when you show up, Billy Bob. You can make the drive if you do it in pieces. Maybe 250 miles a day, with stops in the middle of those? Once you get the drive over with, you won't be dreading it so much! I guess you don't want Robert to come help you out? You said you're scared of his driving. Well, do like I do when I'm scared. Cover your eyes---don't look.

    1. Ha ha, even when I'm feel'n pretty good, I don't drive over 200 mile a day.

I'm not to the point of call'n Robert just yet. I have good days an' I have bad days.
Ha ha, you bet Robert's driving skeers me. It's not that he's a bad driver, he just don't "no nuttin" bout driv'n a big ol' motorhome. Sheesh!!!....skeer the hell out me.

    1. Yes it would be fun....but see my comment above. No, I would fully trust him....as long as I don't go to sleep. Ya see, when I'm awake, he minds his p's an' q's.

  4. Even in my Toyota Highlander I'm happier driving 200 or less miles a day. In an RV I'd probably do even less. That does leave a lot of sitting-around time though, and I am not interested in visiting local museums and sights.

    1. I try to limit my driv'n time...well not driv'n time, but point A to point B to 200 miles. Look out Walmart an' rest areas, here come the Billy Bob. That's 6 hours with my stops along the way.
Only museums I'm interested in are out west. Old cowboy stuff. But, old tractor museums would be nice too. Art, statues, flower vases an' stuff like that.....no way. I'm a country boy ya know.

  5. I don't know why people want to drive from point A to point B like bat out of hell. Slow down and stop a long the way and enjoy your life. It took me 10 days getting across Tex and I thought I was moving to fast then.

    1. Most that like that kind of travel drive me slap crazy. Ya don't see nuttin but exit signs.
Ha, if'n ya drive the speed limit, 10 days to cross Texas is bout right....with a few stops along the way. I know lots of RV'ers that drive 300 to 400 miles a day. Then they complain their trip took too long to get to their point B. Ha ha, then they sit outside in a lawn chair an' don't "do nuttin".

  6. Take your time, we like to stop every rest area and stretch, or my back don't work much. Took us 6 weeks to get to Arizona, no hurry to get there. Maybe the odd longer day for us but then realx again. Have too much fun on this wonderful journey!

  7. Take the train to Atlanta and have them pick you up; or bus. If you need your RV have one of your kids/grandkids take it.
