70 year old grouchy old bastard

Boy howdy, when I waked up this morn'n I were hobb'n round on one foot 'cause the other one weren't work'n too good. I were all piss off bout los'n a whole bunch of my much needed beauty sleep...all over a "shiny" floor. My back hurted and my head was pound'n like a sledgehammer. What 'butterbean' says...."bellyachun"....or something like that.

Speak'n of bellyachun, I'm think'n the old Billy Bob has every right to bitch an' moan just like the next guy....and still be OK. At least that the ways I look at it. I'm old enough that I've earned that right, amungst other things. Have ya ever hear a old man fart in the "girlie" department at Walmart??? We have that right ya know.

Ok, enough nonsense.....back to work projects. Have ya ever hear me say "Google is your bestest friend"? Well, I was concerned that my brand spank'n new floors was gonna be too shiny. So's I googled. Well I'll be derned, ya gotta stir polyurethane for bout a hour to loosen all the dulling agent what is settled on the bottom of the can. That exactly what I done, but it weren't for no freak'n hour. Made a test run on a piece of scrap.....now that what I'm talk'n bout....perfect.

Early this morn'n, me and Robert start tak'n stuff out the house, sweeped, run the vacuum, wash an' mop the floor and start spread'n polyurethane all over the floor. Holy cows, the old Billy Bob is gonna like this stuff. Now, why am I putting polyurethane on a brand new floor? Well, I weren't satisfied with the durability of the stuff from the first scratch what happened. Then I got to think'n, I go to places what is 90% sand and 10% dirt. What gonna happen when I start track'n that stuff all over my new floor? It ain't gonna last long, that what.

You may have to look close to see the difference betwix yes and no. Yes on the left.

Sure have been feel'n good over here in Georgia. Had a couple days when I thought I was gonna die, but that was from some the stuff I been eat'n. Most people don't approve of my eats, but damn, they tastes good. Speak'n of eat'n, I'm think'n I done gain me a few pounds since I been here. Full course meal every night. Good stuff too. That probably why my grandson Tim is 6 foots 3 inches tall. Damn, he a big boy.

  2. Well damm BB. I was hoping you would tell us about that big ol' Bass you hooked up to in the Bubba Boat. I keep thinking about adding some more wood flooring in my MH, the wife want's it all done like yours but I just want it out to where the slide stops when it's in, and over in front of the frig. someone in our rig keeps leaking hamburger juice and leaky strawberrie onto the carpet in front of the frig , and then I have to work my tair off with the carpet shampooer to clean it up.

We have the same color wood floors in our entry way and family room of the house. They are dirt & lent magnets so we got a Swiffer brand dust mop and that took all of the work out of it.

How is old pesky neighbor Wayne doing?

  3. Holy crap, just when I want to see a photo on a blog, Blogger doesn't bring it up on my computer. I'm sure whichever one you like best is the one for you.

And yes, anyone who has reached the venerable age of 70 is entitled to act however he or she wants to act! It works for me.

  6. I like the side you put the urethane stuff on, it looks real pretty and will probably hold up better than if you did not do anything...Glad you are eating and eating well, eating with family around surely beats eating alone and they all love and care about you, that is what really counts in life doesn't it..Rest in Peace Ben Woods, the memorial today and tonight the evening get together to speak of one great and gentle Ben..take care billy bob, enjoy your stay and your new floor..

    Howdy BB,
Don't listen to Barney, he thinks it's coool in Rockport in the humididity!!
I like the right side, it doesn't look that shiny, but polyethylene will last a loooooong time and it is hard stuff, if put on right... Yours looks so good I may let you stop by the ranch and stay a while, it's about 104-106,BUT ITZ A DRY HEAT, while you're here You can help Joyce lay them pretty boards in the Georgie Boy... The patch of floor we have came all unglued, after the last 'flood' we had, where the 'clean' commode ran over for about 3 hours!!! I garontee to feed you some of the best venison chili Joyce can make and the best cuppa there is and sit out under the live-oaks
just tellin' the ones that start with, "...now y'all ain't agonna buleve this..." and they're ALL TRUE!!!!
