A beautiful cloudy, wet, nasty cold day

Well I want you lookie here. There ain't a breath of wind blow'n outside. But then there ain't no sunshine neither. An' it drizzzl'n rain. And it's freak'n cold out there. 48 degrees.

Rolled out of the sack right at 6:30 this morn'n think'n I might take a run over to the lake an' catch me up that 14 pounder bass fish. This is the first day in over a week that the wind ain't been blow'n a gale. You know, "bubba boat" an' Billy Bob blow in for a visit to Mexico. But.....read above....it's freak'n cold out there.

It was a absolute necessity to remain in "da house" yesterday. Had the Mr. Heater crank up all day long. Never get over 55 deg all day long. Was miserable. Sadie Mae didn't even want to go outside to do her business. Gonna have to take the scissors to her matted up hair. Got me a pair them Walmart clippers, but they don't cut her hair worth a poop. Fact, the don't cut hair at all. Junk!!!

So, I decides to brew up that small pot of beef stew soup. Did I say small? That was my intention to begin with, but by the time I put all that stuff in it, I have a large pot of beef stew soup. Purty good tastn' stuff even if I do say so myself. Now how the hell am I gonna eat 2 gallon of this wonderful brew?

Got over my sick,,,,gonna throw the rest that chicken out in the yard. Ain't eat'n no more that stuff for sure. But I did eat all them donuts. Scrape all the "gritty" chocolate off them. But they still had just a hint of pork chops in them. "Billy Bob, you eat some weird stuff".

Had to put the battery charger on the house batteries this morning. Damn, they was almost dead with no sunshine for the last few days. Still think'n the batteries is bout to go to the dumpster an' get me some new ones. That ain't no problem. Problem is....part'n with $400 plus just to run a bunch of lights at night and run this computer all day long.

Speak'n of light bulbs, have ya put in your order for the new $50 each "Obama"  bulbs? Save ya $100 in 10 years. What a deal huh?

Hot damn, it's cold........

Must of been the chicken. But then it could have been the donuts. Or maybe the "border" taters. They do stuff different here on the border of Mexico. Let me back up here for a second. Yesterday the old Billy Bob were sick like a dog. Had to be something I ate. Even though it was a very nice day to go do something, I weren't get'n far from a outhouse. An' a good thing too.

Now bout that chicken. Everybody likes fried chicken....right? It sure look good with all that crispy crust. But....it weren't Churches or Mr. Sanders Kentucky fried chicken. It were nasty....all stringy, dry, an' taste like fried rooster. Being this close to the border, there ain't no tell'n what this chicken was eat'n 'fore they put it to some awful death, pull all his feathers out an' cut him into little pieces to serve to the general public.

And them donuts. My God, them were some beautiful donuts if I ever did see some beautiful donuts. They was all puff up big an' round, covered with a thick layer of chocolate. Uh huh, I mean to tell ya. First bite tole me real quick like, these donuts weren't made in the good ol' USA. Smuggled 'cross the border I betcha. The chocolate was all gritty like the desert sands of the west. I'm think'n these beautiful donuts was fried in lard, pig fat. Reason I say that, they taste like pork chops.

All in all, yesterday sucked. Was hot....weather thingy says 95 in mid afternoon. Couldn't get a good nap 'cause of the flies land'n on my nose. Was weak all day. Dizzy spells every time I get up to do something. Fix that real quick by "do'n nuttin". Sit outside, gonna grill me up a big ol' bake tater and a steak for supper. End up eat'n a bowl of Fruit Loops.

Bout 10:30 last night, the wind change direction. Well shoot, I already knowed that was gonna happen. Weather thingy ya know. By midnight, it were blow'n a gale an' blow that way for the rest of the night. "Sally da house" shak'n in her boots. Waked up this morn'n all wrap up in my covers....it were cold in here.....wind still blow'n 30 mile a hour. It's 45 degs outside and not much more inside. Good thing I didn't put the Mr. Heater in the basement. Got that thing crank'n full bore.....18,000 btu's.

"Now what ya gonna do Billy Bob"? What ever it is, I hope it's productive.

Another windy day

Attempting to write about daily experiences is not an easy task. Especially when you don't "do nuttin". What may seem interesting enough to write about to you, may strike the reader as boring and just plain nonsense.

This morn'n I waked up to the same wind what blowed all night long. I ain't talk'n no little breeze when I say wind, I'm talk'n wind. Now the sky is all full of nasty look'n clouds. Suppose this means it might rain here in a bit. But I been in rain before ya know. Just don't like it none. Rain is for farmers an' I ain't no farmer. Although I growed me a mater plant in one them upside down planter thingys a while back. That the one my neighbor "murdered" by pour'n bleach in it. It were purty too.....had all them little green maters on it bout the size a quarter. Desert winds in Deming didn't help it none neither.

I been accuse a couple time in my life of being a drunk, alcoholic, teetotaler....or something like that. I says "what make ya think that"? "Ya look like a whiskey drinker, that's what". Well I ain't. Ain't touch a drop in 25 plus years....and then it was only a couple beer now an' then. Just enough to wobble round a little an' say silly stuff. Like the time I was sit'n in a bar an' I says to this big burley Bandito motorcycle club feller...."Oh it's tinker bell". That were 'cause he had a little bell tied to his great big motorcycle boot. I made a dangerous move by say'n that, but it was funny as hell. Damn he get all bend out of shape.....got all red face, fists wad up like sledge hammers an' stuff like that. Yeah he did.

Think I'm gonna sit back for a while. Watch the wind blow, eat me up a couple them "smoked" donuts....see what the rest of the day has in store for me.

Maybe it's fixed.....

Boy howdy!!! I looks at yesterdays comments and "what the hell"....there's 3 posts to my blog. So this morn'n before most ya got up, I did some post test'n and editing using both Firefox and Chrome. The results are as follows....Chrome sucks. The reason I say this is 'cause when I edit my post using Chrome, it adds a second post....then a third. Every freak'n time I edit.
Jim had suggested I change....actually edit the HTML, to correct the problem, but I already been there done that. Thank's Jim for the time you spent try'n to help the old Billy Bob. I guess I should have called on old Ben to fix the problem. He always helps me in these kind of situations.

I just had to finish that book last night. Boy howdy...it were excit'n. But yesterday weren't so excit'n. With the wind blow'n up a storm for the third day in a row, I sit inside most the day feel'n sorry for myself. I could have breaked out the vacuum cleaner and do the carpets, but they gonna get all clog up with dirt and sand again.....so what the hell. Or I could have broke out some winder clean'n supplies and wash all the winders. But I can see out them, so that can wait too. That old sink water, with a thick scum on top, it could go "water a tree" 'cause it sure do stinks....but that can wait too. "Dang Billy Bob, ain't ya gonna do nuttin"?

Milk is sour. Bread is get'n hard. Out of Spam. Coffee get'n low. Got two eggs left. Taters all got "eyes". May be a good day to go to the store. Just down the road a piece ya know.

Have ya ever just sit back an' relax, be content an' all that stuff? Well that what old Billy Bob is do'n. When I pull into this "free" camp'n place, I figgered I would have all kinds of visitors, big semi's go'n down the highway, trains blow'n their horns, Border Patrol chasn'n bad guys.....stuff like that. But it ain't like that. Not quite peaceful as I would like, but comfortable and relax'n. An' ya can't beat the price.

I were sit'n out there on "da porch" sip'n a cup.....do'n some think'n an' I hears what I was think'n was a cat get'n eat up by a coyote or something like that. God awful sound. Here comes a lady down the road, arms talk'n, head rared back, sing'n to the world. What she was sing'n, I have no idea, but damn....that girl need some kind of help. Kind of skeered me.....if'n ya know what I mean.
******************************************************************************

1pm.....or there bouts.
Well, me an' Sadie Mae loaded up "that jeep" and took off for the grocery store in Roma, Texas. Weren't a long trip, but with the road construction, it were a 45 mile a hour trip....dodg'n chug holes, yeller barrels, bulldozers, tractors an' stuff like that.
This is a meat market. Ya ain't gonna find one these in no Walmart, so I were pleased to look at meat. They had some great big ol' T-bone steaks what was holler'n "buy me". But I didn't since there ain't no room in the freezer. Sides that, I got bout 6 steaks I gotta eat 'fore they turn green. You do know that ya can scrape that green off and they still taste purty good. I did buy a chunk of beef to make me up some beef stew soup. But I got to freeze it since I bought a bucket of chicken to eat first. Damn, that gonna take 4 days.
See that big field over there cross the road? That where old Billy Bob lives. That white thing in the middle of the pic is "Sally da house". Just sit'n out there in amungst all them little trees.

I let Sadie Mae out this morn'n with out her rope wrap round her neck. What did she do? Took off, that what she do. Had to jump in "that jeep" an' go pick her up. She were out there in the road huff'n an' puff'n headed to Mexico. Crazy dog.

"Fire Billy Bob, the bag of donuts is on fire". Sheesh, now what? Ya see, by accident I left a burner on low this morn'n when I cook me up some oatmeal. Forgot to turn the thing off. Well, when I get back from the store, I eat me up one them donuts. Put the bag up on the stove an' start eat eat me a piece that chicken. Don't guess I need to say no more.
Saved the donuts before they catched on fire, but most the chocolate is gone....pooof, just like that.

Good day?...some are, some ain't

There's an old say'n what been go'n round for the last few hunnert years. In fact, lots if them been go'n round. But they all mean the same thing. "I woke up on the green side of the grass", "I woke up alive", "I'm breath'g ain't I?". All have to do with death, or in most cases, if you can quote an old say'n, still alive. But just being alive don't make wak'n up a good day. It takes some effort on your part in order make the proclamation you had a good day. Chances are that I may have a good day since I got the first part right.....wak'n up.

Yesterday morn'n I were sit'n there on the couch sip'n a cup and think'n. It was still dark outside. I hear something. What the hell....it's a freak'n rooster. Now you would think boondock'n out in the middle of a big ol' field, you ain't gonna hear no rooster crow'n. Ya ain't gonna hear nuttin. But sure enough, there it was....a rooster crow'n his lungs out wak'n everybody up for miles an' miles.

It were windy again yesterday and accord'n to the local weather forecast thingy, it gonna be windy today too. All the way up till thursday. That means "no fish'n". That reminds me of when Gerry an' me would load up the old '51 Studebaker an' head for the lake....do some stream fish'n along the way. Back then, there weren't no "no fish'n" an' "no trespass'n" signs. Ya just drove into some farm, park along the road an' go fish'n in the creek. Sign people make big bucks sell'n them signs now days. Ya see 'em everywheres. On telephone poles, trees, fence posts an' hang'n on barb wire.

Last night I had a rude awaken'n. I weren't really sleep'n but I were engrossed in a book bout a feller sav'n a damsel in distress. Put a hurt'n on them fellers what was steal'n young wimmins an' sell'n them. Anyhows....I see light out there in the dark. There a pick up truck out there mak'n the rounds. Shin'n a light in campsites. Mine included. I turn on my porch light and that truck just disappear....pooof, just like that. My first thought was Border Patrol, but they don't drive black trucks. I rekon I could have lock all my doors, pull the shades closed an' sit there shak'n in my underdrawers, but old Billy Bob, he ain't skeered nuttin. I load up my little shotgun an' finish my story.

Sure would like to go fish'n. Some people don't like fish'n ya know. Or they don't understand what it means to catch up a big ol' fish. Oh well, to each his own. I would rather go fish'n than to sit down to a breakfast of fresh baked biscuits and sausage gravy. Boy howdy, that sound good don't it?

On with my day. May it be a good'un.

Well I'm be darned. Just check my blog......yup, double post again. It got to be this Chrome thingy browser. Although yesterday it were OK. Back to Firefox....good bye Chrome.
