Blowed up

Ya see, it's like this....when I left the house yesterday morn'n to go to the lake, there was just a tiny itty bitty bit of a breeze blow'n. I got to the lake an' sit there in "that jeep" sip'n up a cup and do some figger out what to do. The wind was com'n up.

Bout the time I had the "bubba boat" half blowed up, it were too late. The wind done "blowed up" my plans. There was white caps on the water, tree limbs flap'n in the breeze. Ain't gonna be a good day for sit'n in a blow up boat catch'n up big ol' bass fishes. Gonna blow to Mexico that what gonna happen.

I slips into my waders.....gonna do some wade fish'n. By this time, the wind was crank'n on at bout 10 to 15 mile a hour, blow'n my fish'n string it the bushes every time I cast. This ain't good. So I goes an' sit in "that jeep" an' eat me up a big ol' pork chop....think'n.....maybe it gonna quit blow'n. Then I went to sleep.....little nap ya know.

I wakes up to no sound. Wind has died down. No white caps on the water. Quick....blow up the "bubba boat". Too late again. By the time I get the boat laid out on the ground an' ready to blow it up....here come the wind again. I give up. Go to "da house". Take another nap.

Now today, I gonna go fish'n, no matter the wind blow'n or not. I gots fish'n fever.

Look like I gonna spend me another week or so here at Falcon Lake.  I been camp lot's of places all over the south and south west and this is one place I have found real comfort. Although I do miss the javelina root'n in the yard and other critters over at the State Park, the County Park is free. And it only a couple three mile from the lake. Don't need no stink'n electricity when ya got solar panels and a gob of batteries. I know that out of 4 golf cart batteries, one of them ain't feel'n so good.  But what the hell, I don't use that much electricity.....so's, I'm good to go.
Then I got to go back to the coast to take care of some yearly business. Nephew Joseph fount me another Jeep to look at to replace this POS "that jeep". Have ya ever totally hated your car? Grrrrrrrr....

Ok....things to do ya know.....laters.

Catch'n bass fish

Well, I been up for two hours and still don't know where I gonna go with the blog this morn'n. I were hop'n yesterdays excursion to the lake would have inspired me to write something funny, but when everything goes to plan, nuttin funny happens.

I was at the lake at 9am with adventure on my mind. You know....fall'n down or something like that. I sits there in "that jeep" for a few minutes sip'n up a cup while watch'n for some fishes to be jump'n out the water. Weren't no more than a little puff of a breeze ever once in a while. Temp sit'n right on 60 degs. Man boy howdy, this is perfect.....'cept'n for the cold temp.

By the time I unloaded an' blow up the "bubba boat", attached the motor mount bracket and motor, throwed in all my fish'n gear an' stuff like that, it were get'n on to 10am. I slips into my waders an' drag "bubba" into the lake....gonna catch me up a 14 pounds bass, that what I gonna do. I had a plan of attack to go out beyond them little tree limb thingys stick'n out the water an' do some troll'n first thing. By now, there was a little breeze blow'n. Did some "drift" fish'n, with the help of the little breeze, when all a sudden I catches up my first fish. Yee Ha.....I are a fisherman. Weren't no big one, maybe pound an' a half, so's I toss him back. I the mean time, that little breeze keep blow'n me up in the bushes where there ain't nuttin but snags and tree fish. Caught a bunch them that for sure.

While mak'n a turn for another run outside them bushes an' tree limbs, I snags what seem like a purty good fish. This is when I found out that a fish will pull a blow up boat all over the lake. Yup, you guessed it, right up into the bushes where my fish'n line get all tangle up.....again. The fish, yup he were a good'un, make one jump and he were gone.....pooof, just like that.

The highlight of the day was when a "BIG" bass fish get in my line. I been catched up some bass in my day, but this one was the biggest I ever see on one my fish poles. Ya see, I were toss'n a lizard up close to them bushes an' I feels this "tic tic" on my fish line. Could this be a fish? Well oh hell yeah it were. My fish pole bend like it were gonna break slap in two....tip down in the water....I were excitis as all git out. Up in the bushes that fish go...tangle up my line round one them tree limbs. He make one final jump, not more than 4 feets from "bubba boat", splash water all over Billy Bob an' he were gone.....yup, poooof, just like that. I got me a good eye view of that fish....mouth bout the size a dinner plate. Well maybe not that big, but not less than 6 inch. I'm just guess'n here ya know, but I would says he was at least 8 pounds or more.
Was a wonderful day of fish'n. Sorry no pics. The boated fish were too small to be photographed an' the bigger fish, they was photo shy....hiding in da bushes ya know.
Ended up with 4 fish in the boat an' 4 in the bushes.

Another trip to the lake is planned for later on this morn'n. With the experience I learned yesterday, I'll have a better perspective of what to expect today. Lesson learned....set the hook on the first "tic tic" an' reel like hell. Weather thingy calls for a bit more wind today as the day progresses.

Ain't no wind.....yee haaa!!!

Yee ha, boy howdy or what ever ya want to call it, there ain't no wind blow'n out there. Now this is the first day in over a couple weeks that the wind ain't been blow'n a gale. Still a little nippy out there (60*) but the old Billy Bob can handle that. Maybe not soak'n wet or neekit, but fully clothed and dry.

Took the scissors to Sadie Mae yesterday. Cut all that long hair slap off....although she look kind of funny now. Ya ever try to "groom" a dog with a pair of dollar scissors? She all hacked up. But what the hell, she don't care. Crazy dog.

Ain't gonna write no stories today. Gotta go make one first. The plan is to go to the lake and catch me up a 14 pounds bass fish in the "bubba boat". That should make a good humorous story. Ya gotta paint yerself a good mental picture of old Billy Bob in a pair of chest waders. Then think of a little 10 foots blow up fish'n boat packed full of fish'n stuff. Put the two together and something funny bound to happen.
God I hope I don't sink an' drown. That would be the pits.

Ok....got things to do....pack up a picnic lunch and enough smokes to last a couple days if I get stranded on some island somewheres. Ya might wanna check back laters and see if'n I made it back alive.

3+ pm.....
"Yeah boy howdy Billy Bob, you is the fisherman".
This will be very short. Gotta have something to write bout tomorrow morn'n before I head back to the lake an' catch me up another bunch of bass fish. Boated 4, all under 14 pound....something like 1 1/2 to 3 pounds. Lost 3 in da bushes...."shak'n 'em up here boss"....Mr. Cool Hand Luke.
And just to keep ya in suspense....that was the biggest bass fish I ever did see in my life.
Total fish on....8.

The "bubba Boat" performed well....if perform'n well is in circles. Even the slightest breeze would blow me plumb off course.....right up in the bushes. That ain't where I wanna be.

Rambl'n on bout nuttin...

Sometimes I get it in my head to just ramble on with what ever I might be think'n at the time. I do that quite often when I'm sit'n out there on "da porch" sip'n a cup an' think'n. Some of it don't make no sense at all, while some my think'n makes all the sense in the world.....to me anyhows it does.

I figger that one the best subjects to talk about is myself. My adventures in this life, my shortfalls, my downfalls, childhood memories, expectations and humorous happen'ns. Not often do I touch on my personal life in respect of "love an' hate" situations. That's for me to hold inside until I decide to share those experiences with others.

Well, I'm gonna share a part of my life this morn'n I would like to forget. Remember WWII? That started right after I was born. Some have accused me of start'n that dreadful war, but it ain't so. My dad an' mom divorced shortly after I was born....dad got custody. To this day I don't know why or how. In 1954, I lived with mom for a very short while. Mom died in 1958, with me know'n her for only one year of my life. Nice lady, but her husband was a bastard.....mean....beat us boys (half brother) with a rubber hose. He climbed right up that tree like a monkey an' yank me slap out that tree. Beat me a good'un too.

Dad joined the Army early 1942 and placed me in a foster care farm with 5 other foster care boys (farm slave labor). I growed up on that farm, from a scream'n little banshee baby boy, to the ripe old age of 8 or 9. I didn't really think much bout family an' stuff like that. I were too busy do'n boy stuff. All I knowed was that I lived on a farm with a bunch of other boys and no mama or daddy. Lots of kids growed up like that in the 40's. I was no exception.

In 1949, my daddy pull up in the driveway and pick me up to take me home. What the hell, this is 1949, war was over in 1945. Where he been for the last 4 freak'n years? Here I am almost a growed man an' he come to take me home? He had remarried and didn't have time for no stink'n kid. This has bothered me most my adult life and I still question the missing 4 years of a child's best years. But that was just the beginning. There was still more of the same to come.

Did I ever tell ya bout the time.....

No comments????

All it takes is "one" person" to mess up a good thing. When I opened my blog this morning, there were 42 comments. If you didn't get up early this morning you missed them. I attempted to remove the offending comments and have ended up with "no" comments. So, my blog may be messed up fer a whiles while I git this thang figger out.  Dang, and I was just start'n to have fun.

What's on yer mind today?

Dang, I just can't seem to get into it this morn'm. Been up for 3 hour, drinked me up half a pot, read some the blogs, looked at the destress'n news and I still ain't got that other eye ball all the ways open. Now part of that may be from that damn leg cramp what had me jump'm all over "da house" at 2am in the morn'n. The other part from plain ol' everyday think'n, what keep ya wide awake for hours on end. You'ld be surprised what goes through this mind of mine. I could write a book.

I had planned on watering a couple trees out the side "da house" last night, but forgot by the time it got dark. Maybe I'll remember tonight....gray water tank get'n full.

Boy howdy, did ya feel the wind storm we had last night? Even with the stabilizing jacks down, "da house" was rock'n an' roll'n. Sometime tonight the winds are supposed to change a hunnert eighty degrees out of the north. I suppose this is the same storm what been blow'n over there in Arizona an' points east. Temps gonna only drop a few degrees and only last one day. That be ok with the Billy Bob. Been too hot anyhows. Yesterday was 92*.

Ok....that's all I have on my mind for now......"post 'em up Billy Bob".

Wind and rain...maybe

Well ,well, well, another day in paradise. Yee Ha!!! Well, I wouldn't really call it paradise when the wind blows my lawn chairs all over the yard. And then warnings of thunderstorms for the next 2 or 3 days. This is get'n old.

My wonderful plans for tuesday went in the sewer....glug, glug, glug, just like that. Ya see, I were watch'n the weather forecasts for next week and tuesday was gonna be a perfect day for a fish'n trip out on the lake in the "bubba boat". Done made plans to pack up a nice picnic lunch, can of Spam an' a loaf of bread....spend the whole day at the lake....that what I were gonna do. But now the forecast has changed to thunderstorms and 15 to 20 mile a hour north winds for that day. "Boy howdy Billy Bob, are you sure you want to catch up a 14 pounds bass"?

Yes sir ree Bob, this gonna be some good eat'n that for sure....after I cooks it for a spell.

See what I was tole ya....that's perfect.

I were sit'n there on "da porch" sip'n up a cup of fresh brew an' the damn flame go out.....pooof, just like that. What the hell now? I'm rekon I'm bout out of propane. Damn stuff just leak out somewheres. Yeah you guessed it, I forgot to turn the valve off at the bottle. But there were enough flame left to almost burn it like I like it. That sure were one good chicken laig.

Sure am I glad I got that ol' chicken leg out the way try'n to get it where I want it in this post. Damn thing jump all over the place. Editing is your friend ya know. Give ya a chance to check spelling of simple everyday words create a sentence what makes a little sense. Some people don't do that ya know an' they end up with a whole page of gibberish....what nobody know what the hell they talk'n bout. I don't do that ya know. Everything I publish is clear an' precise. Well sometimes.

I were sit'n on a little hillside overlook'n a beautiful and peaceful little valley with my childhood sweetheart of many years past, Phyllis was her name. It had been 45 long years since I last seen her. This would be our last. We talked for a while bout what we had done with all those years and how our lives had turned out. I smiled as I looked down at her with a tear in my eye. We watched in silence as the sun was go'n down over her peaceful little valley. As I stood to leave, I looked down at her headstone, said a quiet little "I love you", turned and walked away. Rest in peace Phyllis. Life can be hard at times.

Ok....on with my day. May it be a good'un.
"Do the dishes Billy Bob. Ya got freak'n bugs fly'n all round in the kitchen".
