With everthing I buy, I o a ton of research on the item before I click..."add to cart". For days I researched a black tank macerator (poop grinder) an' hoses for "Sally da house". I made my choice an' it will be here tomorrow from Amazon.com. You cain't beat Amazon for not only prices, but for delivery time. Ordered day fore yesterday night (8pm).
Tons of research has been done on the Chris Craft runabout boat project. Holy cows, this project is gonna be way way e*pensive. An' it gonna take way way longer to complete than I was think'n. The hull is a easy build. Just some sticks an' a bunch of glue. Then comes the tedious job of installing the mahogany planking an' the tiny little pvc caulk strips between each mahogany plank strip. Any staining should be done before the planking strips are glued down to the hull. Then sand that sucker down to 220 grit. We talk'n bout 2 to 3 weeks of model boat construction e*pertise just to get to this point.
Then comes the net tedious job....fiberglass. The entire hull will be fiberglassed with 2 oz fiberglass cloth an' West Marine epo*y resin. Thinned 70/30 with denatured alcohol. The resin is applied in thin coats....bout 3, until the cloth is no longer visible. 24 hour cure time between each coat with fine sanding between each coat. The finish coat should be a glass finish. This is the point where wet finish sanding is done. 600 grit all the way up to 12000....or something like that. A mirror finish should show up before the 2 to 3 coats of Krylon clear coats are applied. At that point, the entire surface is compounded an' buffed. Damn, we talk'n a couple months.
Second thoughts???? Maybe.
Ok, I decided I would attempt to install Windows 10 on the laptop. If I like it, it will be installed on the new computer. I clicked to reserve the update/upgrade, got the confirmation an' now all I got to do is wait for Microsoft to send it to me for installation. Or how ever they do it.
Just checked the new computer. Win 10 is already downloaded an' ready for installation. Oh my, what do I do???
In case ya didn't know, the needles in my back the other day was NOT shots. As in injections. I had already got them. These were a tubular needle thingy with the radio frequency thingy in it to zap the nerves. Heat 'em up an' electrocute them....or something like that. Anyhows, I have very little back pains. Only moderate hip pain. Have taken NO aspirins in the last 3 days. This shit feels pretty good.
My energy level is still very low. When the doc said my blood work was all good, why the hell don't I have no energy? He is gonna put me on some vitamin B12 pills....or so he said. Maybe after the results of the last blood let'n the other day. Damn that girl was good with that needle.
I been try'n to increase my diet to 3 meals a day. Ain't had one yet. I cain't look at breakfast for at least 2 hours after I get up. An' by then, I done drink enough coffee, I don''t want no food in my belly. People on a diet to lose weigh should drink lots of coffee. Kills the hunger lickity split. As of the other day, I'm 12 pounds under my normal weight. Do you know how long it will take me to gain back 12 pounds??? Try bout 2 years. But I can lose it in 2 weeks.
Guess it won't hurt nuttin to tell ya I'm still on my smoke reduction. Yesterday was 10 smokes. That's bout a a 60% decrease. I plan to stay at this number for a few more days before I go for a 8. My cough is almost completely gone....but still have episodes.....cough my fool head off git'n that stuff up.
Ok, golf game is almost over an' Robert is brew'n up some hamburgers. Got to go.
Congratulations on the decline in pain. From what I have read, hair is the item that messes with the macerator most often. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHair???? What kind of hair?
DeleteFeels great to not hurt so bad.
Human hair like the hair on your head that falls out during a shower. Not a trouble if your gray water does not go through the macerator.
DeleteNice to hear things are looking up, keep up the good work, soon be like a new man again, right?
ReplyDeleteHa ha George, I'll never be a new man....but I'll take any improvement I can find.
DeleteGood to hear about the pain. Bet you were surprised at how many x's were in this post.
ReplyDeleteHa Kristine, I'm glad to "feel" about the pain. This post was made on the laptop. the * don't work.
DeleteEat ice cream a couple of times a day - not too much at a time, but just eat it regularly. That'll put weight on you. I have the opposite problem from yours - I love my morning pot of coffee and breakfast. Lunch is ok, but I hate even thinking about dinner.
ReplyDeleteThat's great about the needles doing their work, and great you aren't taking aspirin. That stuff is poison, ya know.
My daddy, who is now deceased bless his old heart, didn't have a good way of eating healthy stuff or eating regular meals like they say we all should. His cancer doctor suggested he start drinking Ensure as a way to get lots of vitamins and minerals that would possibly help him feel better. Well, daddy puffed up and said he was too young to drink that old folks stuff at his age of 86. Moma wouldn't leave daddy alone about drinking it, so he finally gave in mostly to shut her up. He told her if he had to drink that God awful stuff he wanted chocolate, that being because he was border line diabetic and moma wouldn't allow much sweet stuff/chocolate in their house. Moma put a can of the Equate (Ensure) in the coldest part of the ice box overnight and handed it to daddy the next morning when he was eating his breakfast. Now you have to know he made the worstest faces he could while sipping on it while eating his fried egg, bread and his cup of dark roast Community coffee, a breakfast he made for his self every morning. Daddy was prideful, and made his own meals cause he always said he didn't need no woman doing his cooking for him. He loved his peanut butter and mayhaw jelly sammiches, and that was a good thing since moma didn't cook much at her age of 84 like she did when she was younger. Course I don't ever remember daddy shoving away from the table if moma cooked! Well the next thing you know daddy was asking moma 'where she'd put the drinks at cause he didn't see one in the ice box and one would probably go good with his sammich if he held his nose while drinking it', just to make her feel meanful and bad, and don't you just know it, he took off after that and he'd have his drink with every meal, and he eventually quit holding his nose. He even liked the vanilla flavor and the strawberry, too. He seemed to have a bit of perk in his step after about a month of drinking the Equate, so it must have done him some good.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could try some of those Equate drinks, getting vitamins and mineral couldn't hurt you I don't guess. Maybe you could freeze it up a bit and pretend it's ice cream! And I agree with Gypsy that ice cream could surely help you in the weight gaining way. You ought to get you some. Chocolate.......just saying.
~Pam in Louisiana~
Hi Pam. Enjoyed your story bout daddy an' moma. Yes I do drink a Equate every morning. Love chocolate an' no, I don't hold my nose....love the stuff. And yes, it makes me feel better.
DeleteThe macerator pump works well, have one for my sewage disposal. You'll want a 45 degree angle pipe, helps keep the pump full when running. Had mine 2 years now.
ReplyDeleteHi Roger. I had to order a 90 degree elbow because of a space situation. Once the black tank is emptied an' flushed, there will be a major plumbing adjustment.
DeleteThat boat should keep you busy through the cold winter up there, Billy Bob. Or maybe you're feeling so much better you can get on home to Texas. Either way, hurting less and smoking less is s good thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat were those injections called? Im going the 25th and cant use any more steroids til Oct. GOT to have something, almost immobile.
ReplyDeleteTrouble, so sorry to hear your condition. The procedure I just had is called Radio Frequency Ablation. It goes the ne*t step past the steroid/whatever injections. It kills the nerves.
DeleteTYTYTY...hope i can get that done on the 25th. Strange how we both have the same thing, even the hip too.
Deletehi BB. have you ever thought of building a full size wooden boat ? i am happy to here you are feeling much better with much less pain . i agree with hermit's baby sis ,since your felling good , you could set up the exact same needles nerve killings back in south texas where the winters are to your liking .
ReplyDeleteI agree Louie, I could set up injections in south Teas, but it ain't for my back that I will spend winter in Georgia. I have a few other health issues we are working on. Some could be serious.
DeleteIf you put one of those macerator things on do you still have to pull the dump handle? I'd sure like to not have a dump handle on my next RV.
ReplyDeleteLOL Linda....yes you still have to pull the handle. The macerator hooks up to the fitting where you connect the 3 inch fle* hose you use now.
DeleteDang! I was hoping the macerator could be permanently installed and it would provide the gateway that wouldn't activate until I threw the switch on the macerator.
Deletehi BB. can linda sand have a sort of a home made motor or selenoid rigged up on her dash board so she can push a button or a toggle switch and the trap door for her black and grey holding tanks could open up as she is driving 70 miles down the road and just like magic she does not need to manually open it herself ?
ReplyDeleteHa! My last rig had a pump for the gray tank so if I left the dump cover off I could push a button behind the driver's seat to pump that water out. The installer made me promise I would not do it while driving down the highway. :) I still had to pull the lever for the black tank, though.
