Today I feel better than yesterday....yeee haw

When I mention aches an' pains, I have to take some time to explain myself. Am I gonna die? Well you darn right I am....just not today. Am I gonna be in a wheelchair for the rest my life? Well, there's that possibility too. Can I be fixed? Maybe, maybe not. Fix'n stuff depends on two people....myself an' the fix it guy.

The biggest concern is this dad gum back problem. It has taken more out of my life than them heart attacks I had....along with surgery. Far I'm concerned, my heart is work'n just fine as long as I take my meds. Blood pressure run right bout 130/80 most the time. Unless I argue with a nurse over needles an' shots....or something like that.

As far as the back goes, I'm think'n most my problem comes from my inactivity. You know, sit'n on my ass all the time. Now granted, there is internal damage from my last injury back in 2000, but I've sort a dealt with it up to today. Or I should say the last 2 or 3 months. The last 2 or 3 months have been spent mostly "sit'n on my ass" 'cause I'm camped in a inactivity location.

You might remember a while back when I said I was gonna try to fix stuff one thing at a time. Well, my teeth ended up be'n the first. And they ain't done. Still need a few fill'ns an' possibly a cap. In Corpus Christi, I dare not have some jack leg doctor look at my back. I done that before. More than onest. You see where I am today. That foot what I injured by kick'n my VW bus door many years ago, I had that looked at too. In Deming New Mexico. He said he could fix it. With surgery. But I would be off my feet for bout 3 months. ?????....don't even ask, 'cause I don't know.

Boy howdy, most my "fix it list" is done. The biggest item remain'n is "why am I not get'n the correct voltage to the dashboard volt gauge"? I mentioned before I may go buy me a new circuit board an' see if'n that would fix it.....$200 plus). I'm at a point where I have no other choice unless I leave it as is. All my test'n an' trace'n out wires have not fixed nuttin. Damn I'm tired of work'n on that thing.

I been watch'n the fish'n reports for Falcon lake. They ain't been good. But that really don't matter.....I like camp'n there. It's a bit late to go camp'n at Falcon lake, but had I gone earlier, I would have froze slap to death down there. I'm talk'n...it was cold. I kind of doubt I would camp at the free community park 'cause of the upcom'n "hot" weather they get every year. Think'n the State Park with electric for the A/C's would be a better choice. But this is just a thought. I still don't know where I want to go.

I was watch'n golf on TV yesterday. Boy howdy did I ever want to go play a round of golf ball swak'n. It's been a while ya know. The next good weather day for golf is this come'n Thursday....cold front for the next three days ya know. Sure do hope I feel pretty good by then.

  1. I think I sit too much. There is a book I'm waiting on from the library about a 90 yr old woman who runs marathons - she started at 75! One of her principles is to stand whenever you can rather than sit. I've been trying it but my legs get tired! I guess there are lots of things a person can do just as well standing up.

    1. I can say one thing for you Gypsy, you get 100 times the exercise that I do. I try standing and receive the same results with tiredness along with pains. I try to blame it all on "get'n old" but know that's not the case. I need exercise.

  2. The damn cold front hit here in Del Rio about 1130 instead of late tonight. Lots of strong wind and quite a chill. Ruined my fishing at 227n.

    1. Think Thursday Barney. It will all be gone an' you can go catch all the fish you want.

  3. Where does the dashboard gauge pick up the voltage to read? I'd think where ever that is had a voltage drop, I might think about moving the pickup point to somewhere I found an honest voltage reading....

    1. I'm think'n that would be true in most instances, but I have that dad burn "battery control center" I'm think'n is where the voltage for the dash gauge comes from. The gauge works perfectly reading battery voltage with the engine off. When I crank it up, it doesn't correctly register the charging voltage being applied to the battery (14.6 volts).

    2. Suppose that battery control center is smart enough to realize when the batteries are charged enough to require less then 14.6 volts so they don't over charge and boil dry?

    3. Mickey, that is the chore of the voltage regulator. It's built into the alternator, so I don't know if'n the control center has control over it or not. I've checked the alternator voltage quite a few times an' it always the same...14.6 volts. As long as I have owned "Sally da house", the dash gauge has always shown 14.6 volts. Until recently.

  4. Nothing to say about that battery problem, all I can do is check the connections, put on jumper cables. lol.
