Tak'n a nap and Iced tea

Boy Howdy, did old Billy Bob steer up some poop or what? I just came off the AllAboutRVing web site (Yahoo group) and, holy cows, they in a uproar over this Van Horn thing. AllAboutRVing is a huge group of RVers from all over the country and just like some of the other RV groups and forums I belong to, they are sending emails protesting my $85 fine for "tak'n a nap". For those that missed my blog the other day, I had stopped in Van Horn, Texas for fuel, a few groceries and a much needed rest. The following morning, I fount a ticket taped to my windshield when I waked up. Here the link to this horrifying story .... http://billybobsplace.blogspot.com/2011/08/ticket-in-van-horn.html.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, what I gonna do for the rest of the day?  Last night I were all fire up to do something special today. I were ex-citis (excited for ya yankees) bout get'n out and run'n the streets. But here what happen to that idea. I drank tea last night. Bout a quart I would guess. Right up till bed time at 11pm. Now tea and old Billy Bob don't get along. It keeps me awake....for hours. Unlike coffee what I can drink in my sleep and never miss a snore. So I didn't get much sleep last night and I ain't ex-citis (excited for ya yankees) this morning. By the way, does anybody have a decent formula for brew'n iced tea? What I did was throw 12 tea bags in a pot and boil it for 5 minutes. Made almost a gallon.

Well I had another "let down" yesterday. I think this makes for #3 now. The golf ball swak'n place here in Brownwood is a PRIVATE Country Club. There's another course up the road a piece what look like nuttin but a good place to raise cows. Cheezy look'n place. But that's Ok, I done decided that Brownwood won't be in contention for a new homebase after the first 2 let downs. RV park rental is way too high anyhows for what ya get. I rekon that would be "let down" #4.

Got a radiator hose leak on "that jeep" what I gotta try to fix today.....before it get over a hunnert degrees out there. I been gonna fix it for quite a while now, but just never got around to it with all the other chores I had to do. Be just my luck put'n that big ol' "macho" high torque screwdriver on that hose clamp, I gonna break something. Wish me good luck.

Come back laters.....

  1. For me it is bring the gallon of water to a boil.
Turn off the fire. Add 6 decaf green tea bags to the hot water and steep at least fifteen minutes.
Remove the bags and chill the tea.

My rule is never bring the tea to a boil. It releases too much of the tannins and makes a more bitter tea.

My style and not claiming it is right, just my style.

  2. For the tea, why not use the no stove at all method? Just put water and tea bags in large jar, sit out in sunny place for a few hours and the tea is brewed. Nice slow brewed and never comes close to boiling. Hot as it has been around here lately , shouldn't take more then a couple hours. I brew tomorrows today and put it in refrigerator, nice and cold come tomorrow.

  3. For those who have heard of the sun tea and bacteria trouble, please check out this site and make your own choice.

  4. There is a lot of Lakes in Texas to check out, but none of them are natural. Some are better for fish'n than others.

  5. Well shoot, I rekon 12 tea bags to the gallon seems bout right to me.

Dizzy, only plan to visit 3 lakes. Lake Brownwood....what I look at yesterday. Inks Lake, just down the road a piece, and Lake Sumerville.

  6. I love my sun tea and it's never caused me to get sick. The research I've done makes it appear the bacteria found in sun tea came from less than hygenic food prep methods or was already present in the water source. Eating in some restaurants would be a higher concern for me. Think I'll go get a glass of tea. Oh, BTW, I use 2 family size tea bags in a qt of water which sits in the sun or on the kitchen counter until the color is right. Clear, mild, delicious, and perfect every time.

  7. Dad, dont drink tea at night, and thr grass is greener in Ga, and the lakes have bigger fish.
Haven't you heard Ga. is GODS country.

  8. Howdy BB,

There's good fishing at Hords Creek Lake on Hiway 153 between Coleman and Winters.. And if you stop at the RunningStar Ranch, across the road from it I'll go with you...
If you go to Lake Sommerville watch out for the 'whop-jaws', they grow'em big down there.. And they'll steal your bait..

Smooth roads, clear skies & balmy breezes !!!!!!!

  9. Ronny;

All of the south is God country, I just hope them YANKEE never figuer it out and stay away. We don't want or need them.

  10. Anon,,,a man back in the 80s, wanted to build a fence around TX, send donations,,lolol,,we all wanted to, keep out those Yanks AND Californians! Who's worse? They come here, and it's GOD'S COUNTRY, and start wanting to change everything!!! DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!!!

  11. I am so surprised that you can drink coffee and have no problems sleeping but tea keeps you up...go figure!!

I think I have told you before...way back about two years ago worth of blogs that you missed your calling...you needed to have been a writer for a comedy show :-D

Stirring up some poop is nothing new for you, you are a real hell raiser :-)
